Biography
Married Francis Exley, son of John Exley (m. Eliz. Tonge, 1555) and Elizabeth Tonge. Together they founded the Liversedge Hall line of the Exley family.
The NZ pedigree shows a “Sebell Oates (d. 1599)” married to James (1540-92), son of Francis de Southowram (d. 1572). The name “Sebell” closely matches “Sybil” and these may refer to the same person, with confusion between the husband’s name (James vs Francis) and which branch of the family the marriage belonged to.
