Biography
Son of Robert (c.1450). One of the four generations verified by the petition to Cardinal Wolsey c.1519: Robert (1450) > John (1470) > Richard (1500) > Robert (1518). Victor chose this line as his “main line” because all four are “definitely all of Exley Hall” and the petition confirms them as four consecutive generations.
Victor’s full article TABLE 3 places John (c.1470) in the direct medieval descent from William de Dewsbury (c.1245) down to John Exley (m. Eliz. Tonge, 1555).
