Biography
Thomas Exley, died 1553, married Pelagia (d. 1539). The NZ pedigree describes him as the “Last Exley owner of Bankhouse, Skircourt” and notes that “Thomas and Pelagia were probably the parents of the following all described as ‘of Southowram’.”
The NZ pedigree identifies Thomas as the father of John de S. (d. 1566), who married Elizabeth Tonge. This differs from Victor’s pedigree, which traces John’s father as Francis Exley (c.1539). See Pedigree Connections for discussion.
