Biography
Pelagia, died 1539, wife of Thomas Exley (d. 1553). The NZ pedigree notes that Thomas and Pelagia “were probably the parents of the following all described as ‘of Southowram’.”
The name Pelagia is unusual for 16th-century Yorkshire and may indicate Continental or clerical connections.
