Biography
Richard, living 1277, second son of William de Ecclesley of Dewsbury. The NZ pedigree traces the main Exley descent through Richard’s line (via Robert of Bankhouse (liv. 1456)) rather than through his brother William as Victor Exley preferred.
Victor noted that the NZ researchers “chose different sons of William de Dewsbury as their main line” and that “A combination of both may even be more correct.”
